We have nine grandchildren, seven boys and two girls (age 3-13). We spend a great deal of our time following the grandchildren in thier sports activities. Eight out of the nine grandchildren just finished baseball/softball. They all live close to us and they are deeply involved in our daily lives. We move from baseball/softball to football, to wrestling, basketball, and back to baseball/softball. Our calendar is always full of family activites.
I am retired from Dow Corning Coporation (25 years) as of Feb 28, 2001.
Twenty five years with Dow Corning with three positions. The first eight years in Group Insurance as a Claims Consultant, then eight years in Quality Assurance as a Quality Specialist, with final nine years of career in Learning and Development as Director and Manager of Production and Maintenance, Trades Personnel Training.
We find spending time with our own family and church family consumes most of our free time. We enjoy time at our cabin near Mio MI with the family and friends. We have a mobile unit in a Missionary Camp in the thumb area of MI and take in several summer camp sessions. We have traveled many eastern and southern states, site seeing and visiting family/friends. Our lives are so full at home, we are content to enjoy the activities our family brings into our lives.
Interests, hobbies, and pastimes:
I love to read, crochet, crafts and making gifts for family and friends.
I had a lot of successes and recognized accomplishments in my career at Dow Corning. I was award the highly prestigious Community Service Award from Dow Corning and named in Who's Who in American Women. However nothing compares to the pride I feel in being a good wife, mother and grandmother to my family. If I failed at this task, no other accomplishment would nor could measure up. The true value of life is having always been there for your family. I am totally devoted and work hard to 'be there'.
I love my husband and family.
Favorite memory of MHS:
The teachers who encouraged and demonstrated sincere interest in my accomplishments and success, ultimately my future.
Momento to remind you of 1962:
Probably our year book.
Biggest lesson learned:
To always be sincere in all things, honest in all transactions and leave a sense of integrity in all that one may say or do.
Closest friends in 1962:
Judy Walker. We had a good visit at our "40th MHS Class Reunion". Sorry to say we had good intentions to get to gether.
